Catch a very South Aussie spectacle as the camels
kick up their hooves and pick up some serious speed in pursuit of
the Marree Cup. Marree is the home of the legendary Afghan cameleers, and
this event gives visitors the opportunity to experience their unique
outback culture. Watch the thrills and spills of 13 camel races,
see Afghan descendants in traditional dress, taste their food, visit the
photo and memorabilia exhibition, take a camel ride and enjoy the
live music. For the kids there are novelty events on offer including pony
rides, donkey races, and a lolly toss.
